KTM RC 125 Review
Design and Style
KTM RC 125 is an entry-level bike with stylish looks and power-packed performance. It has a brand new steel fuel tank, advanced design windshield, new twin headlights, brand new clip on handlebars and switches for aggressive riding position and advanced control, compact underbelly three-chamber silencer placed close to the bike’s overall center of gravity for centralization of mass, and standard dis-engage able ABS.
RC 125 comes with stable and lightweight 17-inch orange-painted cast light alloy wheels with perfect gripped tires, new bodywork with new pushed back foot pegs, fairing-mounted rear view mirrors with sporty integrated blinkers, a thin tail with number plate holder and LED tail light. The comfortable two-part seat with perfect support for rider and pillion, a seat height of 820 mm offers a new and aggressive riding position.
Instrument Panel
KTM RC125 has a fully digital instrument cluster with LCD display which includes fuel gauge, engaged gear, service reminder information, RPM alert for indicating the right moment for shifting up gears and many more information.
Weight and Fuel Tank Capacity
The RC125 has an un-laden weight of 135kgs which is grouped very close to the center of gravity for better maneuverability and precision along with a wet weight of 135kgs. The motorcycle has a fuel tank with a capacity of 10L including 1.5L for reserve.
Engine and Gearbox
KTM RC 125 has a 124.7cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke engine with a maximum power of 15 BHP @ 9500 rpm and a maximum torque of 11.8 Nm and is mated with a 6-speed claw shifted transmission. It has a bore and stroke of 58mm and 47.2mm respectively, Forced Oil Engine Lubrication with One Eaton Pump, mechanically operated Wet multi disc clutch and a contact-less, controlled and fully electronic ignition system with digital ignition timing adjustment.
Brakes and Suspension
KTM RC 125 has a 300mm diameter disc brakes with radially mounted 4-piston calipers at front and 230mm diameter disc brakes with floating single-piston calipers at rear. It has a front and rear suspension travel of 125mm and 150mm respectively and the suspension system consists of 43mm WP upside down forks at front and WP mono-shock absorbers with swing arm at rear.
Ride and Handling
KTM RC125 has a high ground clearance of 178.5mm and an extended wheelbase of 1340mm which further leads to even sharper steering. The bike is quite stable and sharp at edges which offers you a pleasant riding experience.
